Commemorating 30 Years of Prambanan Temple as a World Cultural Heritage
Prambanan Temple has been designated as a world cultural heritage by UNESCO for 30 years. Commemorating the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Prambanan Temple as a world cultural heritage, the manager of Prambanan Temple, namely PT. The Borobudur, Prambanan and Ratu Boko Temple Tourism Parks (TWC) held a commemoration event.
Involving a number of stakeholders such as the Cultural Conservation Preservation Center (BPCB) and Parisada Hindu Dharma Indonesia (PHDI), PT. TWC held this commemoration at Garuda Mandala Field, Monday 13 December 2021.
Corporate Secretary PT. TWC, Emilia Eny Utari said that the 30th anniversary of Prambanan Temple as a world cultural heritage is part of its commitment to present an inspiring heritage spirit.
Emilia said through the theme Spreading Spiritual Values from Indonesia to The World, the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Prambanan Temple as a World Heritage became a momentum to encourage the values of religious moderation.
"We want this celebration to be a momentum to maintain heritage and in addition to encouraging the values of religious moderation," Emilia explained in her statement, Tuesday, December 14, 2021.
This, Emilia said, was in accordance with President Joko Widodo's message during Dharmasanti Nyepi 2020, which stated that Prambanan Temple and Sewu Temple were symbols of tolerance that had existed since the 8-9 century AD.
Emilia explained that the Prambanan Temple Compounds set by UNESCO consisted of several temples, namely, Prambanan Temple, Bubrah Temple, Lumbung Temple, Sewu Temple, Gana Temple. The existence of the temple area with its diversity and different styles inspired the Minister of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia to initiate Prambanan as a center of worship for Hindus in Indonesia and the world.
Emilia said about the importance of replicating and developing the values that exist in Prambanan to inspire the next generation of the nation.
"We are trying our best so that this cultural heritage can inspire future generations. Do not let our nation recognize the past, but can also reach for the future. In this context, Prambanan will be present and become a source of inspiration for the development of science, technology, socio-culture and provide benefits that can be felt by all people," said Emilia.
"We hope that this activity to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of Prambanan Temple can show cultural arts activities that strengthen tourism aspects, especially in the Prambanan Temple area," concluded Emilia.
