Microsoft Tests Windows 11 Update, Fixes a Bug that Makes Applications Crash
Every new operating system release brings some bugs. In the launch of Windows 11, the application crash issue appeared. In addition, it was also reported that some experienced a blue screen of death (BSOD) or sometimes called a 'blue screen', a popular term for the screen that Microsoft Windows displays when experiencing a system error.
Both bugs were originally discovered in this month's Patch, which even affects the latest version of Windows 10. The crashing app has been found to be related to the Microsoft Installer (MSI) failure. Affected applications include those from Kaspersky and several other applications.
A fix for the app crash issue is being rolled out via the beta and preview channel as part of Windows 11 Build 22000.348 (KB5007262). "The patch contains a fix for an issue that might prevent apps from opening after users update or fix them using the Microsoft Installer (MSI)," Microsoft said.
Microsoft has previously stated that it is working on a fix and that users are asked to reinstall the app if they experience a bug. The update also includes a fix for a broken Appx PowerShell cmdlet functionality that affects PowerShell 7.1 and later. There is also a fix for an image error that appears when starting it.
Additionally, Microsoft has fixed an issue that was causing searchindexer.exe to crash or causing high memory usage in remote desktop environments. Finally, a fix was applied for a bug that caused the device to stop responding when returning from sleep or hibernation mode.
